The Fox TV show Empire has become a ratings smash, with Wednesday night’s season finale bringing in an estimated 16.5 million viewers, according to Deadline. Though the show is focused on hip-hop, country superstar Keith Urban is paying attention to Empire.
He says, “I have watched it a little bit. It’s addictive.”
Of course, Keith is a judge on American Idol, which has been airing before Empire on Wednesday nights.
He adds, “I think Idol and Empire together is a good combo.”
Keith is connected to the Empire phenomenon through his wife, Nicole Kidman, who is a friend of Empire’s creator Lee Daniels. Lee directed Nicole in the film The Paperboy, and Keith says, “We’re really, really happy for Lee as well."
...HA...yeah...no doubt orb is "looking" for this NEXT gig...again looking to set up a "connection" to the show...through the wifey as well. Perhaps a "country" episode? This it typical...the desperate and declining are ALWAYS hustling to find a gig...somewhere...whether on HSN...or the obvious new sensation on the network their own show is dying a slow eventual death.

During the episode, host Ryan Seacrestjoked about their show’s low ratings when asking two Empire stars how it feels to have the number one show on television.
“To be number one… Oh yes, I remember those days,” Ryan said.
...yes...Idol is a joke...even to the COMPLETELY talentless joke on the show, seacreast...professional cue card reader!

Yesterday Nicole’s promotional role with Etihad was put under fire by a union representing 25,000 American flight attendants.
Association of Professional Flight Attendants national president Laura Glading, in an open letter to Kidman, wrote the sponsorship deal is at odds with her role as a United Nations Women’s Goodwill Ambassador.
The union has waged a public campaign against Etihad and other United Arab Emirates airlines claiming they “are well-known in our industry for their discriminatory labour practices and deplorable treatment of female employees”.“Last month, on March 8, International Women’s Day, you (Kidman) said, ‘I envisage a world where all women and girls have equal opportunities and rights ... Now is the time to step it up’,” Glading wrote.“Later that very same week, we saw that you (Kidman) had begun appearing in a new campaign for Etihad, a company that the Wall Street Journal has publicly reported ‘may fire women if they become pregnant’ and forces flight attendants to live in ‘confinement’ in secure compounds’.”
